Shahab Hosseini in "My Brother, Khosro"

“My Brother, Khosro” is the first cinematic work by Ehsan Biglari, written by Biglari and Parisa Hashempour and produced by Saeed Malekan. The film was publicly released in 2016 and was later distributed on video streaming platforms across the country.

This drama film tells the story of Khosro, who suffers from bipolar disorder and must spend some time at his older brother’s house. The film stars Shahab Hosseini, Naser Hashemi, Hengameh Ghaziani, and Bita Farahi. “My Brother, Khosro” is a psychological drama centered on a narrative without any unnecessary subplots. The story delves into the roots of individuals’ mental and psychological disorders, which, in this film, trace back to the family. The family is depicted as a microcosm of society where people with different mindsets coexist. Through the film and Khosro’s conversations, we gradually uncover the events in his life that have led to his disorders.

Films in this genre must reveal the complexities of human relationships, and it is not easy to open up individuals’ inner worlds. This film successfully addresses this topic. It has a clear beginning and end, with commendable acting by Shahab Hosseini.

At the red carpet event for “My Brother, Khosro”, Shahab Hosseini remarked, “We tried to create a film worthy of your attention.” Biglari stated, “Shahab Hosseini was instrumental in making this film, providing significant help and standing by it brotherly and wholeheartedly, without receiving any payment for his role.”

Regarding the film’s location, Biglari stated, “I was tired of cold, apartment settings and wanted a large, warm house. We didn’t want a cramped and dark place for Khosro. Shahab Hosseini’s office had an upstairs residence, which was suggested by Shahab, and we chose it as the location.”
