Saeed Khani, producer of 'Raha'

Raha, a social drama directed by Hesam Farahmand and produced by Saeed Khani, is one of the recently spotlighted films that brings a fresh perspective to social issues.

The film won the Crystal Simorgh for Best First Film at the 43rd Fajr Film Festival. At the closing ceremony of the festival, after receiving the award, Khani remarked in his acceptance speech, “Shahab Hosseini, this film would have never been made if you weren’t in it.”

The cast includes Shahab Hosseini, Ghazal Shakeri, Zoha Esmaeilifar, Arman Mirzaee, and Mohammadreza Samian. Marzieh Borumand also participated as the director’s advisor.

Raha is Hesam Farahmand’s directorial debut, but producer Saeed Khani has several feature films under his belt. His film The Year of the Cat was released in cinemas in recent years. He has also produced the series Die Hard and The Professional, as well as the films Red Rose, Amphibious, Vespiary, Delighted, and Me.

Ali Pakzad, news editor at our production branch Seven Skies Studio, sat down with Saeed Khani on the occasion of Raha’s release to discuss his vision, approach, and future plans. Watch the full interview on our YouTube channel.
