
The short film Laundry, directed by Maryam Ghasemi and produced by Siavash Mazrouei, has made its 11th international appearance by being officially selected for the 25th edition of the Festival Internacional de Cine de Lanzarote in Spain. This prestigious festival is recognized by the Goya Awards—commonly referred to as the Spanish Oscars

The Lanzarote International Film Festival, held in Arrecife—the capital of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands—has been one of Spain’s most respected platforms for short films since its inception in 1998. The 2025 edition marks the festival’s 25th anniversary.
The festival places a strong emphasis on short films and features competitive categories including fiction, documentary, animation, children’s and youth films, as well as works produced in the Canary Islands. Since 2006, the festival has held official recognition as a qualifying event for the Goya Awards.
The Goya Awards, organized annually by the Spanish Academy of Cinematic Art and Science, are Spain’s most prestigious film honors—considered the country’s equivalent of the Oscars
