“Raha” Selected for the 44th Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival

Directed by Hesam Farahmand and produced by Saeed Khani, the feature film “Raha” (My Daughter’s Hair) has achieved a major milestone. The film has been officially selected to compete at the 44th Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) in the United States, alongside diverse cinematic works from across the globe.

According to the festival’s official data:

  • Submission Volume: Over 7,050 films from around the world applied for a spot in this year’s edition.
  • Global Competition: The submissions spanned across more than 110 countries, making “Raha” one of the exclusive final selections.

Festival Venue and Schedule

As one of the most influential and highly regarded independent film festivals in North America, RIIFF serves as a vital platform for independent global filmmakers. The 44th edition of this prestigious event is scheduled to take place from August 4 to 9 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.

The feature film “Raha” is presented globally under the international title “My Daughter’s Hair,” starring acclaimed actor Shahab Hosseini. The international distribution of the film is handled by Madakto Pictures.

Next Destination: Kazan International Film Festival “Altyn Minbar”

The film’s international journey doesn’t stop in the United States. Following its North American run, “Raha” will head to Russia to participate in the 22nd Kazan International Film Festival “Altyn Minbar” from September 4 to 8, 2026. The film will compete in the main festival lineup against prominent international entries.
