The performances in Raha, directed by Hesam Farahmand and produced by Saeed Khani, have been widely praised by both audiences and media during the Nowruz screenings. This acclaim likely contributed to the film’s success at the 43rd Fajr Film Festival, where it won the Crystal Simorgh for Best First Film.
The cast includes Shahab Hosseini, Ghazal Shakeri, Zoha Esmaeili, Arman Mirzaei, and Mohammadreza Samian, with Marzieh Boroumand appearing as the director’s advisor.
Among the standout performers is Arman Mirzaei, a young and prolific talent in Iranian cinema, who plays a key role in Raha. His growing body of work includes the TV movie Iron Cocoon and the feature film Mama Mahshid. His presence in Raha highlights his emerging talent and strong screen presence.
Raha is my first experience in cinema, Esmaeili explains.
It’s very special to me that Raha’s hair plays a key role in the film, since women’s hair is so often absent in our cinema.
