Nargesi, a feature film directed by Payam Eskandari, is one of the projects Shahab Hosseini has produced in recent years.

The story of the film is about the struggle of a man with Down syndrome whose greatest wish is to experience love and get married. He is willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. Yet, the world seems to have no place for him or his love — until a gift changes his life forever.
Based on a true story, Nargesi is about a real person. In fact, the lead actor, Hossein Eskandari, is the film director’s uncle in real life. The director tried his best to show the world from his uncle’s point of view, portraying beautiful and tragic moments of his life for the audience, including those who suffer from the same disorder.

The cast includes Shahab Hosseini, Hossein Eskandari, Shirin Aghakashani, Mahdi Bajestani, Behnaz Jafari, Ghazal Nazar, Delsa Maleki, Tina Asadi, and Arya Shahbazi.

Nargesi first premiered in 2021 and brought with it many achievements. The film has had a successful presence internationally, earning multiple awards — including the ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the 53rd International Film Festival of India in Goa.
